Welding Qualifier New As-Run Sheet

Good Day All,

My name is Jordan Hollingsworth and I’m the apprentice Software Engineer working on the development and support of the new Welding Qualifier software from our offices in Cambridge.

Welding Qualifier has been in its beta testing stage over the last few weeks and we’re just ironing out a few last issues. We’ve created a video demonstrating Welding Qualifier, which you can watch on YouTube.

One of the new features in Welding Qualifier is an As-run function, which replaces what was the PQRD form in Weldspec and allows you to record multiple passes from a welding procedure test. You can see what the as-run table looks like below.

You can populate the as-run sheet with the processes, filler materials and sizes, and the relevant variables for the program to calculate the heat inputs. The heat input is calculated based on the type of welding machine you’re using (conventional vs synergic). Once you have populated the table, you can click the ‘Generate variables’ button under the table to transfer the information from the table into the process columns.

As you can see, in the screen shot below, the program has taken the data in the as-run sheet and created two process columns, with MMA having two sub-columns for the two sizes of electrode. The software also calculates ranges of heat input for the extent of approval.

We’ll be posting pricing information on Welding Qualifier in the next blog post, but if you have any questions, or if you want to see the software in action via a Webex demo, please let us know.
